چکیده
Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) is the most common manifestation of genital candidiasis (Achkar and Bettina 2010). It is defined as signs and symptoms of inflammation of the vulva and vagina in the presence of Candida spp (Achkar and Bettina, 2010). Clinical manifestations of VVC are pruritus, hyperemia, vaginal discomfort and leucorrhea, burning, soreness, dyspareunia and vaginal or vulvar erythema (Moreira and Paula, 2006). VVC is diagnosed in upto 40% of females with vaginal complaints. ISSN: 2319-7706 Volume 2 Number 12 (2013) pp. 323-328 http://www.ijcmas.com

Susceptibility to Fluconazole and Ketoconazole of Candida spp. Isolated from Primary and Episodic Vulvovaginites by E-Test (São Paulo, SP, Brazil)
Purpose: To evaluate the profile of in vitro susceptibility of yeasts isolated from cases of primary and espisodic vulvovaginitis to two antifungal agents. Methods: 40 Candida isolates from episodes of vulvovaginal candidiasis were identified by classic methodologies. The susceptibility testing of the in vitro fluconazole and ketoconazole activity against the isolates was accessed by E-test. Re...
متن کاملMolecular identification and antifungal susceptibility of Candida albicans isolated from Vulvovaginitis Candidiasis
Vulvovaginal candidiasis is caused by the increasing number of Candida species as normal flora in the vagina. To assess the transmission rout as well as to determine the suitable antifungal drugs for treatment, the exact identification of Candida species is crucial. Therefore, earlier detection of infection allows quick initiation of antifungal therapy with a greater probability for improved su...
متن کاملActivities of fluconazole in combination with terbinafine against non-albicans Candida species isolated from the patients with recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis in comparison with ciclopirox olamine
Introduction: Recent epidemiological studies show that episodes due to non-albicans species of Candida (C) such as Candida tropicalis, C. glabrata, C, krusei, C. parapsilosis appear to be increasing in recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis (RVVC). Increased use of the current antifungal drugs cause drug resistance among Candida species. In order to gain suitable antifungal therapy for this disease...

Background and Objective: Candidiasis is one of the most important and common agents of vulvovaginitis in women. Various clinical manifestations of candidiasis in patients may be associated with different species of Candida. The present study was designed to accurately determine Candida species isolates from patients using culture methods and molecular analysis. Materials and Methods: In this c...
متن کاملClinical evaluation of Vulvovaginal Candidiasis and Drug Susceptibility Pattern of Candida Species in Gerash City, Iran, 2018-2019
Introduction Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) is an infection caused by Candida species that affects millions of women every year. Due to increased drug resistance, selection of appropriate drugs has an effective role in controlling and improving the infection. The present study aimed to determine the frequency and drug susceptibility pattern in Candida species isolated from VVC in Gerash city. ...
